Founded in 1986, in Lisbon, the brand quickly distinguished itself with its creative concept and strong visual identity. It is present with physical and online stores in Portugal and Spain, as well as in France, through the online store.

2020 marked the year of Gato Preto's rebranding as well as the digital transformation of the brand with a strong focus on the omni-channel strategy. From then on, Gato Preto won, for the first time in its history, reputation and recognition awards, including rankings of the companies with the best reputation in the sector, and the most valuable brands.

Furthermore, the brand has been awarded year after year with the "Consumer Choice" award in the Decoration Stores category, reflecting customers' trust and preference.
